It supports upgrades by installing right over an existing copy, preserving all settings. Click the Start Button, then search for and launch 'Advanced System Settings.' Click 'Environment Variables,' then select 'Path' under User Variables and hit 'Edit.' If Python is on your PATH, you should see two entries as shown in the image below.
